How Did You Get Started?

I got started in bodybuilding after becoming very fat and out of shape. I lost over 60 lbs and started to see some definition. I met a guy at the gym that encouraged me to look into competing. After several attempts he finally talked me into meeting with his posing coach who I now work with. I have only been bodybuilding since last May of 2009, but have done two shows and really enjoyed them and all of the hard work that goes into competing.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

My current workout plan is a four day split that looks like this:

  • Legs
  • Chest And Triceps
  • Back And Biceps
  • Shoulders And Traps

I also do abs about 3-4 days per week in the morning before I do my cardio. I like to do at least 5 different exercises per body part and try to keep my rep range between 5 and 8. I have recently been experimenting with some high volume training as well.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

My nutrition plan is pretty simple, but does change a bit depending on where I am at in my contest prep. Here is a look at an average day.

If I need a snack I'll eat some air-popped popcorn or broccoli.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Why Do You Love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because I thrive on the daily dedication, drive, determination, and discipline that it requires. I enjoy pushing myself to have intense workouts along with doing my early morning cardio and hitting my diet/nutrition plan daily.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

I am motivated to continue this lifestyle because I enjoy seeing the changes in my body due to the hard work that I put in.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

The most important thing that made me want to achieve my goals was the fact that I have a beautiful 6 year old daughter and I wanted to be as healthy as possible and enjoy watching her grow up.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

My future bodybuilding plans are to compete in the 2010 Mr. Natural Minnesota Bodybuilding Championships this May where I'll be making my first attempt at earning my Master's Pro card.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

The tip that I would give other people interested in bodybuilding would be to stay consistent, work extremely hard, and always stay humble.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

I really don't have any favorite bodybuilders, but do really respect any natural bodybuilder that has the drive and determination to step on stage.
