How Did You Get Started?

2 years ago, I figured I could either become a typical middle-aged couch potato carrying a keg, or a fit adult with a 6-pack. I decided to try for the 6-pack!

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I typically workout with weights 4-5 times per week, alternating 2 workouts:

TERMS YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW
Failure - That point in an exercise at which you have so fully fatigued your working muscles that they can no longer complete an additional repetition of a movement with strict biomechanics. You should always take your post-warm-up sets at least to the point of momentary muscular failure, and frequently past that point.

Legs, Back, And Biceps

I also box once a week for an hour at a downtown gym, mountain bike 8-10 miles 2-3 times per week, and kayak 5-15 miles once a week.

Why Do You Love Bodybuilding?

I love being healthy and fit in my mid-forties, compared to most of the rest of society. Plus, there's nothing like the feeling of pleasant exhaustion after a tough workout.

Staying active - I love to engage in outdoor activities, and without being in shape I'd struggle. Plus, my wife likes the way I look so she motivates me!
